Anonymous asked: I love this blog and the replies that you give other people. This year I’ve learned so much about relationships and what God wants from our relationships. I’ve had really strong feelings for this guy at church, but he didn’t like me the same way, so I’ve gone through a lot of internal pain, all I wanted to do is cry. Is prayer the only way that can help me move on?

Unka Glen: Oh sweetie. Yes prayer is the main thing, especially when you can be honest in prayer with God. You know, like those prayers where all you do is say, “aaaaahhhhh haaa” and sob, then God says, “do what?” and then Holy Spirit says, “you know, she feels all “eehhhh heahhh”. At least that’s what the Bible says happens…

“The Holy Spirit helps us when we are weak. We don’t know what we should pray for. But the Spirit himself prays for us. He prays with groans too deep for words.” (Romans 8:26)

So yeah, that’s where the real solution lies. But what about all this icky grief in the meantime? Thus, I present:

Top 7 ways for a Christian gal to deal with heartbreak (would have been 10, but I ran out of time)

1. Chocolate… STAT!
2. Hide all the movies in your house that only involve feelings. No Dirty Dancing, no Titanic, nothing with Ryan Gosling in it. 
3. Hire a male model to follow you around campus, begging you to go out with him, and every now and then you turn around and say, “I told you, NO!”
4. Cry it out. It’s in there, it’s got to come out, you’ll feel better, so cry it out.
5. Find someone else. Lovers gotta love. 
6. Say it, and know it’s true: I am smart, I am saved, and I’m sexy. I’m a triple threat, and I feel sorry for any brother too weak to step up and recognize!
7. And if none of that helps, notify me. I have a single young man who works on my ministry staff (he has a beard and everything!), and if you need a guy to date, I’ll just tell him to date you. I’m the boss, that’s how that works.
